Overwatch Ideas

2019

Overwatch is one of my favorite games, so it made sense to use it for practice in learning more about designing PC game UI. I searched for and discussed various UI flows that people thought could use improvement in the game, and have started making my own mockups on how to improve these flows. I also thought it would be fun to try designing my own companion app, as I use Destiny's Ishtar Command app quite often. I wanted to explore having all the information and resources for Overwatch available from one app. I will be constantly adding to this section, so check back often! :)

Features + UI Tweaks

The following are various UI suggestions/tweaks I've come up with in response to some parts of Overwatch's UI flow that I thought could go smoother.

Adding a much-wanted Story tile to the game's Play modes.

Entering Story mode would bring you to the first of page of campaigns detailing Overwatch's formation.

The Info Overlay for the "Tides of War" campaign, where up to 4 people can play co-op as Reinhardt, Ana, Reaper, and Torbjorn infiltrating the Rio de Janeiro Omnium.

The Info Overlay for the "A Mother's Duty" campaign, a single player mode where the player learns more about Ana's past and witnesses the tragic event that leads to her going into hiding.

A simple navigation UI for finding and choosing your player icon in Overwatch.

Companion App

In this companion app, Players can access their player stats and view their progress on cosmetics collections, as well as equip skins directly from their phones. The app also acts as a hub for information about the game's lore, map designs, game news, and Overwatch League information.
